NAVY 3.0 ELECTRIC OUTBOARD SYSTEMS

NAVY 3.0

The Navy 3.0 electric outboard motor is geared up for tough tasks, like powering a 3-ton boat. It can do the same thing as a 6 HP petrolo outboard, but with faster acceleration. Its characteristics are that it does not require maintenance and that it is extremely quiet, reaching a maximum noise of 60 dB. It offers great performance when used with our exclusive E80 battery.

  • Is it possible to control a Navy motor with either a remote control or a tiller?
    • Yes, every Navy motor is designed to be compatible with two control methods. The Navy top mount control and the Navy tiller are interchangeable, which is convenient and cost effective for users. For example, if you own a Navy 3.0 tiller control version, but you also need a remote version, you just need to purchase one more Navy remote control instead of buying another Navy 3.0 motor.
  • How to choose your shaft length?
    • Find out the transom height first. You could choose a short shaft for transom height between 30-40 cm, and a long shaft between 40-60 cm. You could refer to this blog for details.
  • Can I use Navy 3.0 in the saltwater?
    • Yes, all ePropulsion motors can be used in saltwater. We have two-layer anti-corrosion design on high-quality corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. After each saltwater use, you just flush the outboard with fresh water. For more information, you could refer to this blog.
  • CanI I use the 3rd party battery to power Navy 3.0?
    • Yes, you can. There’re requirements for third-party batteries:
      • Continuous discharge current should be over 62.5A for Navy 3.0.
      • Nominal battery voltage should be 48V. To make a 48V battery pack, you may connect 12V or 24V batteries in series.
      • For the lead-acid battery, make sure you buy a deep cycle battery. AGM or Gel are preferred because they’re maintenance-free.
  • Will the controller display battery status info when using third-party batteries?
    • Yes, but it will not be accurate as when you use the original ePropulsion battery.
    • We recommend you to use ePropulsion original E-Series batteries to provide the best experience. The unit price of the E-Series batteries is as low as  €0.42 per Wh, the half price of the normal LFP batteries. Also the 3rd party battery can not be connected with Navy 3.0  with a communication cable, so the outboard can’t read the BMS data. There will be a remaining runtime data discrepancy up to 20% on the LED display.
